The email finally arrived at 2pm to reveal the secret dining location of Table for 1200. Dinner was a 7pm and we still had to find chairs to bring to the dinner. The dress code for Table for 1200 was white anything. There was a mad rush all across the city to find white pants. I ended up using my white golf shorts and the weather definitely cooperated.
The highly anticipated outdoor pop-up dinner was sold out in less than 36 hours. Table for 1200 celebrated Winnipeg’s design scene and a spin-off event for the Manitoba Association of Architects (MAA) and Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) 2014 Festival of Architecture.
Thank you to John Giavedoni and Tia Polvorosa for the wonderful night as host and captain at Table #145. TAble for 1200 was an unbelievable experience. We are already thinking of ways to decorate next year’s table.
Congratulations to the team behind Table for 1200 – Chef Mandel Hitzer from deer + almond, Joe Kalturnyk from RAW Gallery and Chef Ben Kramer from Diversity Food Services. Sign me up for 4 tables next year.
