The Winnipeg Jets kicked off 2018 with Connor Hellebuyck being named NHL’s first star of the week! Hellebuyck’s three wins in the last week of 2017 included 5-0 shutout against the Oilers on the road, 4-3 win against the Islanders and post-Christmas 4-3 win versus the Oilers at Bell MTS Place.

The Jets lost forward Mark Scheifele for 6-8 weeks with an upper body injury suffered in the Jets Dec 27th game against the Edmonton Oilers. Also on Injured Reserve is Brandon Tanev. Defenseman Dustin Byfuglien was back in action for the Jets-Avalanche earlier this week.

In their recent overtime 3-2 loss against the Colorado Avalanche, the Jets are tied for 2nd with Los Angeles with 53 points, 2 points behind Western Conference leading Vegas Golden Knights and 1 point ahead of the Blues in 4th. The Jets return to Bell MTS Place on Friday against the Buffalo Sabres.
