The 2017 Canada Summer Games are just around the corner and as athletes arrive in Winnipeg, they will be introduced to the $23 million Canada Games Sports for Life Centre.
We took a peek at the new facilities and the massive gymnasium. The centre will be the main venue for basketball and volleyball. 2017 Canada Games president and CEO, Jeff Hnatiuk stated, “we can have six basketball games going on at one time, we’d have to change out to have six volleyball games going on at one time.”
Construction is set to wrap up at the end of May with Canada Games hosting several test events to ensure the facilities are ready for the Canada Summer Games in July.
