Filipino fans presented a teary-eyed Jessica Sanchez with a birthday cake during a Skype party held at SM Megamall on July 29.
The American Idol finalist, whose birthday falls on Aug. 4, was also crooned to with “Maligayang Bati” by the fans through the 10-minute interaction.
Jessica was in Los Angeles where she had just flown in while hundreds of fans gathered at the Megamall for the interface via the most popular voice communication service in the world.
Besides greeting their idol on her upcoming birthday, fans and local media were also able to ask the Filipino-Mexican singer with interesting questions like how she is off the camera, her coming album, her inspirations, the importance of music in her life, and even her advice to those who want to follow her footsteps.
Filipino fans will be able to see Jessica and 2012 American Idol winner Phillip Phillips performing solo, as well as showcased in duets and group performances during the “American Idols Live!” concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sept. 21.
The concert also features Joshua Ledet, Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine, Hollie Cavanagh, Elsie Testone, Heejun Han, DeAndre Brackensick and Erika Van Pelt.
Jessica revealed that she is excited to visit her country of heritage and culture and more importantly to meet her Filipino fans .
