The parish priest of San Joaquin Parish Church in Leyte says it is prayers, faith in God and community support which helped the Yolanda victims survived.
Fr. Kevin Apurillo said in a CBCP News post that the Yolanda survivors are trying to move on armed with strong faith in God and the Church. On the anniversary of the tragedy on Saturday (Nov 8) a procession and a Mass will highlight the commemoration in the parish.
The “Panumdom” (remembering) will start at 4 a.m. until 4 p.m. Fr. Apurillo added that “Panumdom” is not just a commemoration of the tragedy but also a thanksgiving for another chance to experience life for all of those who survived.
