Election hopefuls from Fil-Can community

Reyes, Champagne and Marcelinos running in 41st Provincial Election

Incumbent NDP MLAs Flor Marcelino (Logan) and Ted Marcelino (Tyndall Park) will be seeking relection in their respective ridings as Manitobans head to the polls next month. Jon Reyes is the Progressive Conservative candidate for St. Norbert and Aida Champagne is the Liberal candidate for Tyndall Park.

Jon Reyes, former president of the Manitoba Filipino Business Council and co-owner of the UPS Store at Kenaston Common is officially in campaign mode after several months of door knocking in St. Norbert. He is up against incumbent MLA Dave Gaudreau (NDP). Gaudreau won the St. Norbert riding back in 2011 by a slim margin of only 33 votes.

Representing the Liberals in Tyndall Park is Aida Champagne, current president of the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival and former president of the Filipino Seniors Group Winnipeg.
