On July 5, 2013, a milestone was achieved in the Winnipeg Architecture & Engineering community with the retirement of Manuel (Jun) Quiogue who served as Project Manager and Senior Technologist for Stantec Architecture. Jun commenced his career when he joined GBR Architects in 1974 as a Building Technologist where he was involved as part of Project Teams for the creation of many important and prestigious buildings in the city including the National Research Council (NRC) Building, Holy Family Nursing Home, numerous schools in Seven OaksSchool Division such as Ecole Leila North School along with a significant body of work at the Health Sciences Campus.
His colleagues, clients and business associates comment that Jun is a dedicated, thorough and knowledgeable professional who is highly valued in the Project Teams he has worked with. He provides quiet leadership and is especially an excellent mentor to young Architects and Technologists who have worked with him over the many years of his career. Art Martin, Stantec Architecture’s Principal and Practice Leader states, “Jun is an important link in our firm to not only our historic roots in the community but also to a strong understanding of building technology and the management of many successful projects. His valuable contributions are deeply appreciated and form part of our story as a distinguished Architectural and Engineering practice.”
Jun’s friends and colleagues at Stantec as well as those around the Winnipeg Architecture & Engineering community celebrate with him and Lolita on a full career of service and offer best wishes on the next chapters of their journey.
In honour of Jun’s commitment to excellence and his impressive career, Stantec has donated to the Rosalinda Cantiveros Foundation.
