This year Folklorama celebrates 50 years of legacy, tradition and the significant impact of ce.lebrating diversity and promoting cultural understanding in our city and province.
Folklorama began in 1970 as a one-time celebration of Manitoba’s centennial but has since grown to be the largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world. The golden anniversary year will also include the following celebrations: a City of Winnipeg Flag Raising and Honorary Street Naming, 50th Festival Kick-off at Assiniboine Park, as well as a legacy wall mural produced by Take Pride Winnipeg and West End Biz, and more!
