CARVING FOR A CAUSE 2020-Pandemic Edition

Kildonan Place’s celebrity pumpkin carving was done in a different way this year due to the pandemic.

Local celebrities carved pumpkins at home or work, in support of their favourite causes.

Just the process was changed but the charity side of the event remained the same.

Depending on the number of reactions (like, heart, care, haha, wow) that each entry gets, a corresponding monetary donation will be given by KP to the participant’s chosen cause.

Contest ended on October 31. Congratulations to the winners:
Tyler & AJ from ENERGY 106 FM! A total of $669.80 goes to their cause, Winnipeg Harvest, when you include their $500 prize to the vote tallies and participation donation of $100.

2nd place ($300) went to Drew & Karly of KiSS 102.3 Winnipeg (supporting Manitoba Animal Alliance), and 3rd place ($200) went to Tyler Magz from Virgin Radio Winnipeg (supporting Never Alone Cancer Foundation)

“Artistic Merit” prizes of $100 donations (selected by a secret panel of judges) were also given to the entries from CTV Morning Live – Winnipeg (scariest), Doug Speirs from the Winnipeg Free Press (cutest/funniest) and the Filipino Journal (most creative).

These extra prizes are, of course, on top of the $100 each team received for participating, and the 10 cents per vote received on Facebook! Overall, KP will be donating more than $3300 to 14 different local charities. Thanks for all the votes!
