The model I’ve chosen for this issue is a fantastic living example of brains, beauty and compassion. Estrellita has been caring for people with heart failure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Cardiac Sciences Program at Saint Boniface Hospital for 10 years. She completed her undergrad studies at Far Eastern University in the Philippines, and in 1997 Estrellita received her Masters Degree in Science and Health Administration from the University of Manitoba. Now at age 51, this dedicated and hard working lady is currently working towards her second Masters Degree in Advanced Nursing Practice. Being a person equipped with medical knowledge and a giving heart, Estrellita has also volunteered for the Medical Mission twice in the Philippines. She currently volunteers at the Canadian Council of Cardiovascular Nurses and is their Provincial Director. To recharge and in her spare time Estrellita enjoys to read, travel and loves shoes!
We salute Estrellita on her accomplishments, perseverance and passion in health care and are lucky to have her as a role model for our community.
