The Bombers lost the Labour Day Classic in Regina as the Roughriders won the game with a game-winning drive to beat the Bombers 35-30 at Mosaic Stadium. The win marked the 10th straight Labour Day Classic win by the Riders.
The prairie rivalry continued with the Banjo Bowl in Winnipeg. Home field advantage and the fans at Investors Group Field unfortunately did not help the Bombers as the Riders lost the Banjo Bowl 30-24.
Even with the Rider’s Darian Durrant out of the game due to an injury in the 3rd quarter, Drew Willy and Bombers didn’t have luck or enough time on their side during two 4th quarter drives to battle back. Two interceptions in the dying minutes of the game sealed the loss for the Bombers.
In Week 12, the Bombers travelled to Vancouver to take on the BC Lions. The bitter 26-9 loss to the Lions was especially tough as Drew Willy was injured during the first half and remained out of the game due to an injury to his throwing shoulder. The injury is week to week and with the bye-week, Willy’s satus for the Bombers next game (Saturday, September 27 vs Hamilton at Investors Group Field) is questionable.
