Belen Leyda is proclaimed as Pangasinan Group of Manitoba Senior Queen in the recently yearly celebration at Pampanga Restaurant. Belen who is also active in the senior groups is the widow of the late Golden Jubilee Awarde Joe Leyda of Filcasa for his continued volunteerism in the Filipino community..Ms. Leyda was escorted by her son, Michael Bauto. Politicians and community leaders had presented the sash, the flowers, the crowns, the trophy and the special gifts.
This fundraising event by the PGM has become a traditional celebration held every other year to raise funds for various community projects here in Manitoba and in the Philippines.
Other PGM Senior beauties include 1st PGM Senior Princess- Mrs. Leonor Lucero and escorted by her son Jame Bernard Lucero; Mrs.Hilaria Calo, 2nd PGM Senior Princess, was escorted by Ray de Guzman; Ms. Hope, Mrs. Frisca Elmas-Tamondong was represented by Mines Pagtakhan and escorted by Councillor Mike Pagtakhan; Ms. Charity was Ms. Simplicia Soriano and she was escorted by Marcy Soriano.
PGM officers and members would like to thank al the reigning PGM senior beauties 2011 and the PGM senior beauties 2009 for all the hard work they did to make the PGM Seniors Pageant Night a delightful success. And special thanks to Ellen Chua, chairperson, PGM Seniors Committee; and Zeny Calimlim, PGM Senior Beauty Queen 2009 for their untiring commitment and enthusiasm in planning and organizing this event.
