Assiniboine Park is inviting the public out to once again enjoy Movies in the Park on the Lyric Lawn over four Fridays in August. The kickoff starts on Friday, August 5th with a special dinosaur themed double feature showing The Good Dinosaur at 7 pm and Jurassic World at 9:15 pm. Presented by Scotiabank as part of Assiniboine Park’s 2016 Red River Co-op Summer Entertainment Series, Movies in the Park features Hollywood blockbuster films on a cinema-style 27 foot wide LED screen at the Lyric Theatre.
“Movies in the Park is always a community favourite and we are so pleased to offer it again for families and friends to come together and enjoy,” said Laura Curtis, APC Manager, Marketing and Communications. ”Every summer we see thousands of people gather on the Lyric Lawn and take part in what has become a celebrated Winnipeg tradition. This event is one that is near and dear to all of us at the Park.”

The dinosaur themed kickoff is inspired by Dinosaurs Alive! ® presented by Artis REIT at Assiniboine Park Zoo open until September 5th. Zoo visitors can hashtag their dino-selfies #dinosaursaliveapz to enter to win a prize pack. Visitors can also take a selfie with Deeno the travelling dinosaur on display at the Conservatory and use the same hashtag to enter the contest.
