2014 Mazda MX-5 GT

Perfect for summer fun!

The Mazda MX-5 roadster arrived in Winnipeg just as we started getting all the sunny weather and it is the perfect compliment to driving around Manitoba’s wide open roads. Any given sunny day, the top down rule is a given, even when it’s overcast, the top still should be down.

The Mazda MX-5 GT won’t win any road races but it will get you there in style.

The 2.0L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine delivers 167hp at 7000rpm and 140 lb.-ft. torque at 5000rpm.

The interior of the MX-5 doesn’t offer a lot of features you’d expect to see in a $40+ roadster. Plus, all you really need with the top down is music and the GT comes with XM SIRIUS radio and a BOSE audio system.

Key features of the MX-5 is the power retractable hard top, 17″ alloy wheels, and in case you were tempted to drive in the winter, heated leather seats.
Driving the MX-5 for a week in Winnipeg was great for short trips to the grocery store and jetting to and from work. Just make sure to pack light as there’s very little trunk space.

The MX-5 comes in a base GX trim starting at $29,450 and the mid-range GS model starts at $36,045. The Mazda MX-5 GT as tested is $40,250.
