Karen Lizon accompanied by 4 teddy bears and a legion of friends brought smiles to 1097 unsuspecting children and random strangers. On a cold morning on December 23rd, they were offering 1097 random acts of kindness. The result is nothing short of inspiring. 1097 smiles and surprises on a cold and sunny Sunday afternoon! The Gary Effect! In return, all Lizon wanted was for recipients of the random acts of kindness to pay it forward to someone else one day.
The initiative started last year by Karen Lizon in memory of her father, Gary Boittiaux, who hosted community BBQ and fireworks in the North End.
