The Warehouse season begins with a bang! In this stylish mash-up, playwright and screenwriter Qui Nguyen features everything from hip hop and kung fu to tell the story of his parents’ escape to America after the fall of Saigon. A New York Times Critics’ Pick, VIETGONE touches on themes of courage, resilience, love and loss.
Quang is a badass pilot who saved lives during the war, but was forced to leave his family behind. Sexy and strong, Tong is excited to write her own story but finds America isn’t exactly as advertised. Nguyen smashes stereotypes as he shares the pain and triumph of two warriors forced to find a home in a temporary world.
VIETGONE stars Simu Liu as Quang, Stephanie Sy as Tong, Jeff Yung as Nhan, Jennifer Villaverde as Huong and Peter Fernandes as Playwright/Giai/Bobby/Captain Chambers/Redneck Biker/Hippie Dude.
