Veteran actress Lolita Rodriguez dies at 81

At the age of 81, veteran actress and Filipino-American Lolita Rodriguez died on Monday, November 28, in California.

Lolita died after suffering a stroke two months ago. In a Facebook post, her relative Eduardo Perez Blanco announced the actress’ passing. Hailed as one of the country’s greatest Philippine movie actress of all time, Lolita starred in Lino Brocka’s Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang in 1974 and won FAMAS awards for Gilda. She also appeared in movies such as Ina, Kapatid, Anak, Cofradia, and Ang Anak ni Brocka. Lolita was married to actor Eddie Arenas but later divorced. She has been residing in the US since retiring from showbiz.
