V-League Winnipeg, spearheaded by the couples Nestor & Jackie de Quiroz and Vangie & Mar Mance, have introduced a new conference called INTER-BARANGAY and sponsored by Jeth Reyes and MITSUBISHI WAVERLY. It sought to reunite recognized Filipino groups in Manitoba, alumni from well known Universities, towns, province in the Philippines through the game of volleyball. For 5 Sundays, different teams like Bulacan, Cavite, CALABARZON, FEU, UST, Health Care – TLC, RESUS, CODE Blue, battle it out in the over 25 Men and Women division. Two volleyball games and a basketball game are being played at the same time making like a Family picnic every Sunday since everybody have to stay and wait for their second game at the Red River College – North gym.
Nestor de Quiroz and Jeth Reyes have inserted a basketball tournament called A HOOPS FOR HOPE. Along with V-League, it has an objective to raise funds for 2 babies back in the Philippines that required a very expensive Liver Transplant each. This tournament is also participated by 10 teams.
