The 40th Anniversary celebration of the University of Santo Tomas University Alumni Association will be held on Saturday, October 20 at 6 pm at the Holiday Inn, Ellice St. highlighting the awarding of eight scholarships and two special awards to the deserving students.
Founded in 1978, the UST Alumni Association Inc. has been awarding scholarships and special awards to many deserving students who will pursue university degrees.
This year’s Scholarship committee is headed by Regina Santos and members include Leah Magsino, Alda Ruiz, Archie Huypungco, Phil Anciro, Maridol Madolorosa, Rod Cantiveros and Mirla David, Adviser.
The current executive officers include Girald Carbonnel, chairman; Phil Anciro, vice-chairman; Maridel Carmen Reyes, secretary; Joy Ann Villafania, alternate secretary; Lani Pasco, treasurer; Mayumi Panelo, asst. treasurer; Regina Santos, auditor; and Leah Magsino, adviser.
The board of directors include Girald Carbonnel, Phil Anciro, Maridel Carmen Reyes, Lanie Pasco, Mayumi Panela, Regina Santos, Byron Yadao, Lauren Abano, Nena Huypungco.Evhonel Comia, Sheila Bumacod, and Joy Ann Villafania.
The eight 2018 UST Scholars include Guezz Lois Quizon, Ralph Paguio, Joseph Geodisico, Kristianna Sanangelo, Arlna Vinanella Radovan, Caitlyn Joy Garcia and Rianne De los Santos. The two special awardees include Stephanie Decena and Sam Austin Generoso.
