US Secretary of State to visit PH in December

Senator Loren Legarda quoted the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that US Secretary of State John Kerry will visit the Philippines in December.

Legarda gave the announcement during the DFA budget deliberations in the Senate saying she hopes there will be no storms when Kerry arrives in the country in two weeks’ time.

Kerry was supposed to come to the Philippines in October to take the place of US President Barack Obama, who was originally scheduled to visit the Philippines but cancelled at the last minute due to a US government shutdown.

Legarda said the relationship between the US and the Philippines remained friendly despite the cancellation of the planned trips by Obama and Kerry
