Weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio from the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said typhoon “Neneng” has entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 11 am Friday.Typhoon “Neneng’’ (international name: “Phanfone”) has maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.

He noted that the typhoon is gearing northwest at 20 kph. An estimated rainfall amount of 7.5 to 30 millimeters per hour (heavy – intense) is expected within the typhoon’s 700-km diameter.

Neneng is expected to be 1,180 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday morning.
