The South East Manitoba Filipino Association (SEMFA) teamed up with the Catholic Parish of Christ Our Saviour (COSP) to present a medley of Filipino dances at the Steinbach Summer in the City Festival. Each year, the city of Steinbach closes “Main” street to put up carnival rides and to build a stage to hold multi-cultural presentations. This year, the Filipinos of Steinbach, led by the SEMFA chairman Raymond Chua and the COSP parish priest Fr. Gerry Sembrano proudly showcased their talent. This was made possible by their dedicated instructor Ruel Namuco. The SEMFA also put up a tent to sell their mouth-watering pork BBQ and rice. We hope that this event will further the efforts of the Filipinos of Steinbach to work together in making Filipinos proud.
