Ruby weakens, some NCR evacuees start going home

Families in Metro Manila who were brought to evacuation centers due to the threat of bad weather conditions from Typhoon Ruby (Hagupit) began to go home today.

Several families in Metro Manila had been preventively evacuated after state weather agency PAGASA indicated Ruby may affect Metro Manila.

In Manila, several evacuees at Del Pan in Tondo, Manila decided to go home Tuesday after learning Ruby had weakened.

Ruby devastated parts of Visayas after making its first landfall in Eastern Samar last weekend.

But it has weakened into a tropical depression and made its fifth landfall early Tuesday. It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday.
