Around 2,898 families had been evacuated from the danger zone around Mayon since the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology warned that an eruption was possible anytime and Albay needs registered nurses to tend to the Mayon Volcano evacuees according to Governor Jose Salceda.

Salceda said the RNs, preferably with emergency medical technician (EMT) training, can volunteer and may receive an allowance of P600 per eight-hour shift, for 30 days.

This may be renewable for consecutive 30 days until “the termination of Mayon preemptive evacuation.

The RNs would be deployed to evacuation centers in five towns and three cities, mainly on the main highway from Daraga to Ligao via Sabloyohn to Tabaco to Sto. Domingo.
