Singer-actress Regine Velasquez became emotional during her last day at Party Pilipinas last December 12.
The Asia’s Songbird will be temporarily out of the musical-variety show in GMA-7 as she has to prepare for her wedding with Ogie Alcasid on December 22.
During the show, she was honored with the Gold Record Award for her new album Fantasy. Although the album was just recently released, it has already reached Gold status according to Universal Records executive Kathleen Dy.
In her acceptance piece, Velasquez said she suddenly realized that her latest album was really a Fantasy as “Regine Velasquez” because she will be “Mrs. Ogie Alcasid” next year.
The other casts of the show namely Jaya, Kyla, Rachelle Ann Go, and La Diva (Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, and Maricris Garcia) gave Velasquez a medley of songs as a tribute.
