Provincial Nominee Program initiated by then Manitoba Premier Gary Filmon, PC and Prime Minister Jean Chretien, Liberal!

No doubt, the Provincial Nominee Program which was signed between the Canadian Federal Government of former Prime Minister Jean Chretien and the Province of Manitoba during Gary Filmon’s premiership has boosted the province’s increased flow of new immigrants, considered among the strong engines of Manitoba’s economy.

Through the program, thousands of immigrants from different parts of the world came to live and work in Manitoba, that they now call ‘home.’ The MPNP was pursued and promoted by the NDP government until this day.

After the Gary Filmon government, the NDP under Gary Doer continued to promote the Provincial Nominee Program. And this resulted to a big jump in numbers of the provincial population to more than a million. And the Filipino community has increased to more than 70,000 strong.
