Prime Minister Stephen Harper has given full support for Julie Javier’s candidacy for the Federal Winnipeg North during his visit in Winnipeg at the rally held recently at Polo Park CanadInns.
At first,Public Safety MinisteR Vic Toews publicly announced the candidacy of Julie Javier, a well-known Filipino community leader in Winnipeg, as an acclaimed candidate for a possible by-election this coming fall.
And then, Julie Javier introduced Prime Minister Harper to the more than 900 people composed of Manitoba Members of the Parliaments, Senates, official candidates and supporters. As Julie said: “While travelling from coast to coast, Prime Minister Stephen Harper has consistently reached out to the grassroots of our party and to Canadians from all walks of life. He is a man with a clear vision for Canada. His leadership, his resiliency and his tenacity have guided Canada’s economic out of a global recession . Canada’s economy has become the envy of the world.”
Prime Minister Stephen Harper cited the job security when he visited Bristol Aerospace in the early morning Winnipeg visit. And in the afternoon, Harper met with Conservative Party members at the Canad Inns where he spoke on his minority government’s achievements on economy, jobs and security. Harper had a grand time to speak informally with the party supporters and members after the rally.
“Thank you for this opportunity, Prime Minister to see you and talk to you in person”, one of members of the visible minority who brought a special gift for the Prime Minister. Most of the Filipino delegates had a great opportunity for a pictorial with the Prime Minister.
“I will not forget this moment with the Prime Minister who is very accommodating and approachable,” one of our kababayans said.
