A press preview of “Les Misérables” was given by cast members including Filipino actress-singer Rachelle Ann Go, for select members of the media a few days ago at the Star Theater in Pasay City.
The cast is led by renowned actor Simon Gleeson who essays the role of Jean Valjean. Rachelle Ann plays Fantine, a poor mother who was separated from her daughter Cosette. She is internationally recognized for her role as Gigi in “Miss Saigon. Other Filipino artists who appeared in previous productions of “Les Misérables” were Lea Salonga, Monique Wilson and Joanna Ampil.
“Les Misérables” is based on Victor Hugo’s novel set in the 19th century France. The award-winning Cameron Mackintosh’s musical production in Manila will run from March 11-April 17 at The Theatre at Solaire.
