Pacquiao in top form as fight get nears

The sparring rounds have gone down with exactly a week left before the May 7 showdown with Shane Mosley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Manny Pacquiao went six hard rounds of sparring Saturday with Ray Beltran and Shawn Porter at the Wild Card Gym and chief trainer Freddie Roach was glad with how the sparring went.

Beltran, who sparred with the Filipino champion for two rounds, said Pacquiao is just getting better each day with each fight. He added that Pacquiao has now evolved into a more complete boxer with the punches coming in more accurately from all angles.

The sparring rounds with Porter were more impressive as he caught the American welterweight with some clean shots, and seemed to have hurt him.

Monday will be the last day of sparring and in the afternoon Pacquiao and his entourage will travel some 300 miles away to Las Vegas for fight week.

Roach instructed Pacquiao to take a whole day off Sunday and get one good rest day before the fight, maybe just go to church.
