NEW: Safe Foods for Canadians Regulations

The new Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR) will come into force on January 15, 2019.

These regulations are a major step forward in safeguarding Canada’s food system.

Suzanne Lane, Senior Compliance Officer, Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will provide you with information on the New Safe Foods for Canadians Regulations that food businesses will need to prepare for, such as:

•obtaining a licence from CFIA
•writing a preventative control plan
•meeting traceability requirements
•highlight which requirements apply and when to food businesses based on food commodity, type of activity and business size.
