Manitoba Day is May 12

With Manitoba Day just around the corner, we are grateful. After more than a year navigating COVID, we appreciate the ongoing opportunity to shine a light on all that makes Manitoba amazing and unique – our beauty, people, culture, and history.

As we reflect on 150 years as a province, we offer two new opportunities for you to celebrate what you love best about Manitoba!

First, visit our website for a Manitoba 150 Inspiration Guide. With suggestions ranging from creating a Manitoba garden to hosting a Manitoba Book Club, there’s a safe idea for everyone!

Second, through Love Letters to Manitoba, in partnership with The Winnipeg Free Press, (with support from Brandon Sun, Steinbach Carillon, and La Liberté), submit stories, memories, and photos showing what you love best about Manitoba. From May 7 through August 31, 2021, each submission is a chance to win weekly prizes or the grand prize of $2,000 airfare courtesy of Calm Air.

And stay tuned during May for the announcement of the seven communities that will receive outdoor, accessible art through Mural 150 presented by CWB National Leasing and in partnership with Synonym Art Consultation. Later in May, we will announce a complete listing of more than 240 projects funded across the province thanks to Build 150 through the support of James Richardson & Sons and Manitoba’s community foundations.

Manitoba Day, May 12th, and every day, is a new chance to fall in love with Manitoba all over again.
