Actress Maine Mendoza has raised over half a million pesos a week after starting a donation drive for daily wage earners.
Mendoza announced through her Twitter that her team has sent financial support to 587 families. These include public vehicle drivers of tricycle, pedicab, jeepney, taxi, and UX express to motorists from different ridesharing and delivery service companies. She is also extending help to senior citizens, unemployed, working students, single parents, and pregnant mothers. Also receiving donations were frontliners like receptionists, nurses, security guards, including barkers, construction workers, street/market vendors, street sweepers, house helpers, maintenance staff, service crews, and factory workers.
