Canada’s Largest Lantern Light Festival – is ready to amaze visitors of all ages as the festival opened to the public last Friday at Red River Exhibition Park.
The six-week long festival – the largest show of its kind ever mounted in Canada – is helping to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the sister city twinning between Winnipeg and Chengdu, China with the luminous event this September and October.
Lanterns appear regularly in many traditional Chinese festivals and celebrations as a symbol of luck and hope. The festival will feature over 50 stunning lantern exhibits that will make it an unforgettable experience for everyone.
