Kiefer Ravena pursues NBA dream without pay

Former Ateneo star and UAAP MVP Kiefer Ravena sets aside PBA stint and pursues his dream to play in the NBA.

While his Gilas cadet teammates have all made their debuts in the PBA, Ravena toils without pay as a developmental player with the Texas Legends in the NBA D-League. According to his father and TNT KaTropa assistant coach Bong Ravena, Kiefer will give it a try for one to two years. The Texas Legends, an affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks, will provide Kiefer an apartment but he has to spend for his meals as a developmental player. He also needs to go through the draft then hope to be drafted. The Ravenas are aware that the NBA journey is a long and tough one but Kiefer hopes that he’ll make the Mavericks team in the NBA Summer League. The Ravenas gain inspiration from the LA Lakers’ Fil-Am star Jordan Clarkson.
