Is it June yet? As we see the Winnipeg Jets miss the playoffs for the third straight year, I am eagerly waiting for the 2014 CFL season to start and June can’t come fast enough. Until then, I’ll be glued to the TV (or tablet) watching NHL and NBA playoff games. I’m extremely happy to see that the Toronto Raptors clinched the Atlantic Division title and really hope they are still in the hunt when I go to Toronto in May. Could you imagine that? The Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals?
My “Is it June yet?” question refers to my desire for the CFL season to start now. The Blue Bombers are currently in Florida kicking off a three-day mini-camp so I’m getting my fix. It was also recently announced that the 103rd Grey Cup will be coming to Winnipeg in 2015 so I’m also excited for the huge potential for a month long party in Winnipeg next November.
Until then, we have quite a lot of sports happening in Winnipeg and also sports developments with the Filipino Journal that I’m excited to announce soon. There’s Canada’s Women’s National Team playing a friendly against the USA next month at Investors Group Field. Lots of sports happening in our community.
