Retired Major General and Former Congressman Jovito Palparan, reportedly hiding since 2011, was arrested on Tuesday, by members of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
According to GMA news report, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima confirmed that Palparan was arrested around 3 a.m. in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
Palparan is being accused of having involvement in the disappearances of UP students Karen Empeño and Sherlyn Cadapan on June 26, 2006.
The former general and congressman is called as “Berdugo” by activist groups.
