Singer Jonalyn Viray will now be known simply as “Jona” following her transfer from GMA-7 to ABS-CBN. The 26-year-old singer said the change in screen name is a sort of celebration for the fresh start in her new mother studio. She added that said she was convinced to go with ABS-CBN because of the projects they’ve lined up for her.
Jona will record the Gloria Gaynor-original “I Will Survive” for a new TV show called “We Will Survive,” which stars Pokwang and Melai Cantiveros. In 2005, Jona won the GMA-7 singing competition “Pinoy Pop Superstar”.
