The first Canadian restaurant for Jollibee Food Corporation opened to wild crowds, long lines in Winnipeg. The -37c temperature on opening day didn’t stop over 500 people from lining up just to get thier first taste of Jollibee’s famous menu items.
The restaurant hosted special guests, supplier and media to thier pre-grand opening ceremonies which included a store blessing, a Jolly Crispy Chicken toast and the first Jollibee dance on Canadian soil.
The opening of the Ellice location is the first in Canada with a second location set to open at Northgate Shopping Centre in spring 2017.
Winnipeg is a fitting choice for Jollibee’s first Canadian store because it has largest density of Filipinos to the total population of the city.
