Jets March Madness Continues Fighting for the playoffs

In the first half of March, the Winnipeg Jets dominated at MTS Centre with four wins which included a critical game against the Washington Capitals at MTS Centre on Friday, March 16. The Winnipeg Jets have been trading the last playoff spot with Capitals for a couple weeks and the playoff race is getting even tighter with very few games left in the regular season.

Winnipeg Jets Fans Represent
To hear the “True North” shout out, normally heard during Winnipeg Jets home games was loud and proud the anthem at Rogers Centre and the Saddledome. You almost felt like you were in Winnipeg. Former Winnipegers now living in Vancouver and Calgary didn’t disappoint when they showed up to the two road games. In both instances, fans were chanting “Go Jets Go” louder than the home team fans.

Road Woes Continue
A short two-game Western road trip to Vancouver and Calgary resulted in two losses which didn’t help the Jets chances of catching up with the Washington Capitals. The Jets tried to battle back late in the game against the Canucks but came up short with a 3-2 loss. In Calgary, the Flames opened the scoring with three straight goals in the first period, with the eventual final, 5-3 in favour of the Flames.

Streak Busters
The Dallas Stars came into Winnipeg with a hot 12-game point streak and a record of 10-0-1 in their last 11 games. Little did they know that they’d leave with a loss. The Jets won in convincing fashion by a score of 5-2 with 4 unanswered goals coming in the second period.
