A brand-new production of the multi-awarded musical “Jersey Boys” will premiere on Sept. 23 and runs for a limited 15 weekend shows until Oct. 16 at the Meralco Theatre in Pasig City.
The musical is based on the story of the legendary American doo-wop group Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Nyoy Volante plays the role of Frankie Valli, lead vocalist of the Four Seasons; while Christian Bautista is Bob Gaudio, singer-songwriter and keyboardist of the Four Seasons. “Jersey Boys” officially opened on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre on Nov. 6, 2005. In 2006, the show won several Tony Awards. It also won Best New Musical at the 2008 Laurence Olivier Awards in London and Best Musical Show Album at the 2007 Grammy Awards. The production is brought to Manila by Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group (ATEG).
