For three consecutive days, November 27 to November 29 Monday 2010 at the Philippine Canadian Centre of Manitoba, Inc., there are more than 800 passports had been processed; some Filipinos had sworn in to their dual citizenship title; and others got other consular services.
The Philippine Consulate in Toronto headed by Consul Edna Lazaro and four of her staff and coordinated by Dr. Roland Guzman, former honorary consul general and his wife Dr. Irene Guzman and with the help of some local volunteers, the consular services had become successful in serving the Filipinos in Winnipeg, in Steinbach, in Neepawa, Dauphin, Portage la Prairie and from other Manitoba Cities.
To accommodate all the requests, the consular services had extended to 11 p.m. on the first two days, Saturday and Sunday. Appointments were accepted in advance and the walked-in applicants were also served.
