In a celebration of music, visual art, fashion, and dance, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO) partners with Culture Card, Love Life Productions, Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers, and Nereo II to create an experience called THE HUB: Symphonie Fantastique on Tuesday, October 18, at the Centennial Concert Hall.
This special event is part of the WSO’s Music of the Impressionists Festival. The evening begins at 7:30pm with a concert presentation of Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique with local artist Nereo II & multi-media artist Thor Aitkenhead joining the stage. THE HUB’s post-concert celebration begins at 8:30 pm where there will be more than 100 different artists showcased under one roof including a special performance by Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers.
There will be visual art and projections by a selection of artists from Flash Festival, coordinated by Leif Norman. The Fall and Winter collections of Lennard Taylor Design Inc and dEDIGER will be showcased in a fashion show with 20 international models from Swish Model Management.
DJ Mav One (Ricky Ramdath) will be playing Funk and Motown on the 1st floor, and DJ Nathan Zahn from MEMETIC will spin the best house music. There will be a live performance by Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers, and live painting by Nereo II and Pat Lazo from the Graffiti Gallery. Guests will also enjoy a Free glass of wine.
