The Far Eastern University Dance Company (FDC), the Philippine representative to the Cheonan World Dance Festival in Cheonan, South Chungcheong in South Korea, FDC won a bronze medal and $1,500 along with Malaysia’s UTP Performing Arts Group and India’s Dance Academy; behind Poland’s Jawor and Brazil’s Companhia de Artest Caripaiguaras silver prize.The grand prize went to Georgia’s Adjarian National Dance State Ensemble Khorumi team.
The gold medal went to Serbia’s SImyonov-Tucovic team. The competition was held from Oct. 8 to 11
The FDC won the right to represent the Philippines by topping the 2014 Philippine Folk Dance Competition sponsored by the Bayanihan National Folk Dance Company.
