Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Francis Tolentino said that people must expect heavy traffic in the coming weeks as the holiday season draws near especially in the last two weeks before Christmas on December 19 or the last Friday before Christmas, as many of the city dwellers might do their last-minute shopping.
He advised the public to shop earlier and while there is an 11-to-11 scheme implemented in our malls. Last Friday, several malls in Metro Manila started extending their mall operations to 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily from the usual 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This new mall operating hours is effective until January 3.
Tolentino said heavy traffic is also expected on December 23 as it is the last working day of many employees because of the bulk of vacationers will go to their provinces.
