GMA 7 is set to remake the 2005 hit telefantasya “Encantadia” this year with Marian Rivera playing the role of Ynang Reyna (previously played by Dawn Zulueta).
Ynang Reyna is the queen and mother of the sang’gres, the guardians of four gems representing fire, air, water and earth that maintain the balance in the land of Encantadia.
The four sang’gres will be played by Glaiza de Castro (Pirena), the keeper of the fire gem; Kylie Padilla (Amihan), the keeper of the wind gem; Gabbi Garcia (Alena), the keeper of the water gem; and Sanya Lopez (Danaya), the keeper of the earth gem. The original sang’gres were played by Sunshine Dizon (Pirena), Iza Calzado (Amihan), Karylle (Alena), and Diana Zubiri (Danaya).
