Riverview Health Centre (RHC)–a Winnipeg facility that supports progressive programming for patients and residents in hospital and personal care home units, as well as in outpatient and community programs–is acknowledging the fact that its staff members are a good mix of various races by promoting a cultural awareness campaign. Dubbed as “Embracing Cultural Diversity,” the project will include a series of cultural awareness displays and events in January and May 2011.
The project–headed by Kelly Dutiaume, RN, and Lucie Schlichter, Support Service Manager–is geared toward reinforcing the center’s positive work environment and camaraderie among its staff, residents, patients, volunteers, and visitors. If you’re working at RHC or have a relative or friend working there or staying there, you may support the project’s cause by volunteering, promoting, or just attending the forthcoming events. Contact RHC Volunteer Services at 478-6232 or volunteer@rhc.mb.ca. RHC is at One Morley Ave.
