Action star Robin Padilla felt he was given a second chance in life after President Rodrigo Duterte recently granted him absolute and unconditional pardon that restores his civil and political rights.
Recall that the actor was granted conditional pardon by then-President Fidel Ramos in 1998 after he was sentenced for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. Robin clarified he did not make a personal request to the President regarding the pardon because of possible criticisms. He said it was his manager Betchay Vidanes and lawyer Rudolf Hurado who wanted to process the appeal. He personally received the documents from the President himself during his visit to Malacañang for another appointment. The pardon came as a surprise which made him teary-eyed upon reading the document.
