Be our guest this summer at Rainbow Stage where 33 of Manitoba’s most extraordinary theatrical talents, along with a live orchestra and lavish designs will bring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to life for a new generation!
The Academy Award winning score of the 1991 animated classic tells the tale of an unlikely love in enchanted castle where we learn the value of stories through books and the consequences of judging them by their covers.
The title characters will be played by the incomprable Stephanie Sy and TTimothy Gledhill respectively.
The show will also feature the base brawn of Galen Johnson’s Gaston, the farcical foilings of Nelson Bettencourt’s LeFou, the heart and humour of Robb Paterson’s Maurice, the illuminating charm of Kevin Klassen’s Lumiere, the comedic timing of Cory Wojcik’s Cogsworth, the coquettish charisma voice of Paula Potosky’s Babette, the operatic stylings of Jacqueline Harding’s Wardrobe and singing the title tune, the heart-warming infusion of Laura Olafson’s Mrs. Potts.
Rainbow Stage is very proud to introduce a-little-tea-cup-of-an-artist-overflowing-with-talent, Zachary Gordon as Chip.
An outstanding ensemble boasts the talents of Hayden DeJong, Elena Howard Scott, Brittany Hunter, Aaron Hutton, Laura Kolisnyk, Kelsey Lacombe, Darren Martens, Heather McGuigan, Simon Miron, Brett Owen, Joseph Sevillo and Catherine Wreford.
We are also proud to support ten incredible young artists in our Children’s Ensemble: Keara Allain, Chloe Bingham, Liesl Decksheimer, Hudson Francis, Delaney Giesbrecht, Haley Kowalski, Taylor Masson, Yasmine Ravandi, Myah Richard and J.J. Scherk.
This enchanted castle of a show is built by director Rob Herriot, music director Paul de Gurse and choreographer Stephanie (Sam) Manchulenko. Rainbow Stage Wall of Fame recipients Scott Henderson (Lighting) and Brian Perchaluk (Set and Props) return to bring their sumptuous designs to our stage. Rounding out our illustrious creative team are Nancy Puttaert who will be coordinating costumes and Emily Porter who continues to work her magic through sound design.
It’s a tale as old as time…and we cannot wait to share it with you.
