Derek Ramsay gets offbeat role anew

The Brillante Ma Mendoza new series “Amo” on TV5 will star Derek Ramsay portraying an idealistic policeman caught in a web of corruption and intrigue.

The actor shared it was a totally different experience being directed by the multi-awarded director. The gritty directing style of the Cannes-winning filmmaker includes shooting a scene in a real morgue with real corpses, a raid in a drug den in a squatter’s area, and a chase scene set in a mall with some security guards thinking Derek was a real crazy person running around with a gun. Derek role is that of a devoted husband and loving father who kills without remorse.

The 12-part series premieres on Aug. 20.
