Dennis Trillo plays ‘hitman’ in indie film

Actor Dennis Trillo and director Mike Tuviera met with members of a hit squad in a dark room in an undisclosed place where no communication device was allowed.

The purpose is to study them for his role in the indie film “The Janitor.” The story of the movie was inspired by the Cabuyao bank robbery-massacre in 2008, touted as the country’s Philippines’ bloodiest bank robbery. The actor plays Crisanto Espina, an ex-cop who hunts down suspects of the bank heist.

Dennis was told that the hit men only kill people involved in heinous crimes and regard it as simply a job.

“The Janitor” is Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival official entry. For Dennis, it would be his third venture into Cinemalaya after “Astig” in 2009 and “Ang Katiwala” in 2012.
